The Start : We've came a long way now. It all started in year 8 with Chris and Louie one night at a youth club, playing basketcase together. After a few weeks we found two drummers for a small gig. One didn't have the confidence so we took on the other, Andy. A few months later we tried out the other drummer again but he didn't show up to many practices so Andy came the the rescue again. A few covers were sorted then came the first song, Favourite Boy. This is where we all realised we needed a lead guitarist, Tim. He immediately amazed us and had to take him, so the bands line up was complete. Then : We started to get a few gigs, covers grew and we started writing more songs. 2005 saw the shooting of our first video, Malice In Wonderland which was shot on South Shields seafront and The church of latter day saints, South Shields. This video was then shown for Youth Arts week. 2005 also saw the start of an amazing event, "Sacred" (at the temple), which was created by the marvellous Warren Crake who we owe a lot to. That year we also helped by doing a gig to raise money for an ill baby needing a liver transplant. 2006 has also been a great year for iDiOCENTRiC. We were asked to go on a Music Exchange to Washington and Virginia which was Awesome! Previously we had problems of getting the whole band there so we raised money for the trip and other students. We also played Sacred 2 which was awesome but the security were too tight. The Problem : SCD (Andy) had to leave us in July to go work on a ship in Ghana with his family. It was a very hard time for us as a band and he is still greatly missed by pretty much all of our fans as well as the band. Now : Chris, Louie and Tim attend Newcastle College and have a session drummer, Liam. He is our temp drummer, until andy returns ! We've been working hard to get back up to scratch and new material is on the way so watch this space! |
