What is your favourite way to relax?

You know I dont know if I should admit this but Im quite partial to a game of bowls. Its really laid back but pretty skillful as well.I used to read fiction but gave it up when the plots started repeating themselves. The same goes for TV.... blimey what a bore.

What is winding you up at the moment?

That sod Blair.... I mean, as a socialist I thought right - its our turn now. And what happens? we find theres a cuckoo in the nest.... and he's the LEADER of the bloomin' Labour party. AND he has an unfortunate habit of kissing American presidents arses. What music did you find most inspirational as a child and why? I was lucky enough to start buying records when the Move, the Kinks, the Who and the Small faces were doing their thing. fantastic singles bands.... I mean - what better intro to a record is there than TIN SOLDIER by Steve Marriotts bunch? And the Hendrix and Syd Barrett painted everything in a crazy psychedelic fashion. Wonderful stuff.... it made me start nagging the parents for a guitar.

What do you think is the point in making music?

Cos its wonderful art and us humans are capable of great things - when we're not blowing each other up on some fraudulant war or other. If all that is left of this planet one day is a few rachmaninov and Soft Machine CDs then the aliens who find them will deduce that we were amazing creatures. What is the point of making music? Well, it sounds nice.... apart from that Phil Collins stuff of course.

When was the last time you visited hospital and what was it like?

In the states.... I'd fallen off the stage. They wanted 100 bucks up front before they'd do the stitches.

What is the single most important piece of music to you?

I think its probably Sheherezade by Rimsky Korsakov... its all in there. Excitement, melody, melancholy. Great stuff - I play it before Damned shows on me Ipod to chill me out before the chaos.

Who would you see playing you in the TV movie of your life?

Trevor MacDonald

Slag something off...

Smokings pretty shit - and it kills the one who indulges AND potentially those ALSO breathing the foul smoke but I'm sure Blairs been got to by 'Big Tobacco' so that it wont be banned at gigs and the like. Thanks Tony.... my kids need me you corrupt scumbag.

Lick something's arse...

The life suite of programs Apple bundle with their new Macs is spectacular..... and SO easy. I knocked up a video (with Imovie) for one of my new tunes the other day - what fun! Nobody could fail to make some decent music (except Cliff Richard maybe) with Garageband.... it's got drum loops and virtual instruments galore. Can I have the money now?

What are your hopes, dreams and aspirations?

Blimey.... that's a toughie seeing as I'm very much a day by day person. I happily drift along in my own peculiar way.... occasionally spreading a little joy and happiness along the way. I'd like to do some more records.... so if theirs anyone out there who wants to put me in a studio that has a nice pub around the corner!!
