We've just returned from 4 dates in italy which we followed with a trip to l.A. To play the british invasion show at the orange county pavillion. We didn't get to play because a riot broke out just before we were due to go on stage, with police using tear gas, mace and rubber bullets on the crowd which included young children. To say we are disappointed and angry about the situation is putting it very mildly,a 10,000 mile round trip is a long way to go for one gig,let alone one you dont play, and to see people injured and panicked when theyve come to a gig and have fun is horrible. Our guest books are full of messages from disappointed fans who are angry we didnt play and equally angry at the way the incident has been reported in the states.Gbh and the adicts also didnt play but at least they are touring out there so people can still get to see them if theyre prepared to travel. As lumpy our guitarist said,it was a helluve way to go to have a few drinks with our mates in other bands.
Weve also just finished our new album "defiant" which should be out in the usa on sos records very soon, and were currently looking for licensing deals for it here in the uk and europe. We have a few uk gigs and festivals lined up including wasted and wickerman festivals as well as some festivals abroad and we may be doing our first tour of japan this year and very much hope to tour the usa this autumn.
Wasted in morecambe last year was a good one,and the corona state theatre was brilliant too.
Without a doubt the new album "defiant"
I dont take anything for granted including life expectancy so i really couldnt tell you.If im still here ill probably still be making noize, but 10 years louder.
Bruce lee's been my hero since i was a little kid,for his grace and beauty and for overcoming racism and re-inventing the martial arts.
Joe strummer is my hero because he was a brilliant songwriter and a genuinely good man.
Janis joplin for her brilliant voice.
Pythagoras for being a genius and a veggie too.
I have a lot of guitar heroes but there isnt space here for all of them.
The clash, particularly the first album but i like virtually everything they recorded.
Ac/dc highway to hell, the lyrics are daft but i love this band because they rock and angus youngs playing, particularly his use of vibrato is awesome.
So unloved's pink black and broken,a very cute american girl quartet with a very aggressive sound.
System of a down.I like most of their stuff, they are excellent musicians with plenty to say.Its good to hear a man singing an anti pornography song.
Uk subs, another kind of blues.I played this to death when it first came out but cant play it anymore as i only have it on vinyl.
I love permission to land by the darkness but thats because theres a lot of les paul action on there and i like men who wear catsuits made of pants, scream like girls and wiggle their bottoms a lot...I think it was being exposed to glam rock as a child which has made me this warped.
Morrisey, you are the quarry. The lyrics on this album are unique, good old morrisey has a pop at stuffed suits everywhere and ive always liked him because hes such an awkward character who doesnt conform to anyones idea of a rock star. The fact hes into animal rights is a big bonus for me.
Police who over react to incidents and tear gas innocent people!!!!
Public money being invested in bogus scientific research just to line the pockets of the usual suspects, when it should be used to improve hospitals or for non animal based research.
The countryside alliance, take away the o,r,y,i,d and e and that sums them up nicely.
Music.Men dressed as ladies playing les pauls.Big guitar stacks. The milk of human kindness.Seeing good people triumph.
White wine.I indulge every time i do a gig but if im not gigging i rarely drink alcohol, but i gig a lot.
Yes,dont let the bastards grind you down
